Authentic Pick Up Two Awards

Authentic Media is thrilled to have picked up two awards last night at the annual Christian Resources Together Awards night. The awards are selected by the BA-CBG Committee from nominations received from suppliers and retailers.

Courageous won in the Adult Media category.

Courageous is a powerful movie that tells the story of four men with one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, they are confident and focused, standing up to the worst the streets have to offer. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood.

Authentic Media also picked up an award in the Children's Media category for one of the latest VeggieTales adventures, Robin Good.

Based on the familiar tale of Robin Hood, this DVD from VeggieTales aims to show children how to deal with hurt and forgiveness. The episode, based on Psalm 55:22 which says, "Give your burdens to the Lord for He will take care of you," also includes the animated short, "Lenny & the Lost Birthday," which further helps teach lessons about handling hurt and forgiveness.

Both DVDs are available from your local Christian retailer or authenticmedia.co.uk

Calling All Creatives

Christianity magazine and Authentic Media are launching a competition to mark the publication of Am I Missing Something? by Ruth Roberts.

Based on the popular Christianity magazine column, Am I Missing Something? looks at Christianity through the eyes of a new believer.

The book adds to the articles that Ruth wrote each month for three years, expands on her past and includes letters to her Father about the challenges, and joys of trying to live a faith-filled life.

There’s also a lot more from Ruth’s feisty friend Val, and we discover more about her character and struggles.

To mark the occasion we’re launching a competition: we want you to write a piece of flash fiction of 100 words or less on the theme ‘New to Church’.

The competition will be judged by Ruth Dickinson, editor of Christianity, and Martin Saunders, editor of Youthwork and Childrenswork.

The 3 winners will receive a copy of Am I Missing Something? and a year’s subscription to Christianity.

Please email entries to ccp@premier.org.uk by 5th April 2013.

BRAND NEW VEGGIETALES®: THE LITTLE HOUSE THAT STOOD

THE WISE AND FOOLISH BUILDERS MEET THE THREE LITTLE PIGS IN A HILARIOUS VEGGIE PARABLE

Just in time for Easter, this brand-new VeggieTales DVD is available now!

The all-new episode, which parodies popular nursery rhymes, cleverly incorporates strong Biblical messages based on the Parable of the Wise & Foolish Builders (Matthew 7:24-27), as well as Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:27-37).

Featuring a cast of many fan-favourite VeggieTales characters, including Bob, Larry, Mr. Lunt, The French Peas, Madame Blueberry and more, The Little House That Stood shares an important lesson in ‘making good choices’ and what can happen when we choose to follow the wise plans God has for each of us in the ‘Master Builder’s Handbook’.

Watch the trailer here: The Little House That Stood Trailer

The new DVD also reminds children how to be a good neighbour in the bonus short entitled, ‘The Good Egg of Gooseville’, in which the story of Humpty Dumpty is hilariously re-told around the Parable of the Good Samaritan based on Luke 10:27-27.

Additionally, The Little House That Stood features the all-new Silly Song, ‘Happy Tooth Day’.  Watch it here: Happy Tooth Day Silly Song

The Little House That Stood is available now from your local Christian Bookshop or authenticmedia.co.uk

Kisses from Katie - A Story of Relentless Love and Redemption

Jesus wrecked her life, shattered it to pieces, and put it back together making it more beautiful than it was before.

In Kisses from Katie, Katie Davis tells her story of how she went from being an American teenager who ‘had it all’ to being a mum of 14 and living in Uganda.

Katie was a normal American teenager when she decided to explore the possibility of voluntary work overseas. She temporarily 'quit life' to serve in Uganda for a year before going to college. However, returning to 'normal' became impossible and Katie 'quit life' - college, designer clothes, her little yellow convertible and her boyfriend - for good, remaining in Uganda.

In the early days she felt as though she were trying to empty the ocean with an eyedropper, but has learnt that she is not called to change the world in itself, but to change the world for one person at a time.

By the age of 22 Katie had adopted 14 girls and founded Amazima Ministries which currently has sponsors for over 600 children and a feeding program for Uganda's poorest citizens - so it is no wonder she feels Jesus wrecked her life, shattered it to pieces, and put it back together making it more beautiful than it was before.

Kisses from Katie is available now from your local Christian Bookshop or authenticmedia.co.uk
